FIGHTING SCENARIOS
BEARPIT. We shall start the day with a three-ring Bearpit melee tournament. All fighters shall receive a card with which to record their victories upon the field. Upon entering each ring, the fighter shall present his/her card to the marshal in charge of the ring.
The first ring shall host a contest of arms between two teams of three fighters. The winners shall hold the ring, the losers shall move on to the next ring down.
The second ring shall host a contest of arms between two teams of two fighters. The same rules as above apply.
The final ring shall be single combat between two fighters. The same conditions of victory as above apply.
All wounds shall be kept from one bout to the next. Fighters stepping out of bounds shall be called dead by the Marshal. Each team victory is worth one point for each team member, whether they are killed or not.
There is a limit of three victories per ring. Teams with three wins will be asked to move to the next ring.
The tournament shall be run for thirty minutes. The top two winners of the Bearpit will captain and chose teams for the melees to follow.
SAVE ST. WINIFRED. This twenty-minute resurrection is basically a version of the Save the Princess scenario. It is fought on the open field.
One team shall start with possession of the saint, a life-size manikin. The other team shall try to rescue the saint. After twenty minutes, the resurrection points will close and both teams shall fight it out to the last man. The team to have possession of the saint at the end of the battle wins.
The saint, being a delicate holy person, must be carried at all times. At no time may she be left on the ground unattended. If the saint is left on the ground for more than thirty seconds, the marshal will reposition her randomly somewhere on the field.
THE BRIDGE TO HOLYWELL. This resurrection battle shall take place on the bridge leading to the Abby founded at Holywell. The Well is reknown for its restorative powers of healing. At each res point shall be a bucket of water from the Well. Each injured or slain fighter must drink a set amount from the bucket in order to return to the fray. When the water runs out, so do the resurrections. The battle is fought to the last man to determine victory.
MORE FUN THAN A BASKET FULL OF HEADS! This timed resurrection battle will take place on the open field, or maybe with some obstacles.
Winifred's miracle stems from the miraculous reattachment of her head to her body, which had been severed by a jilted lover. The first team, in possession of Winifred's headless body, must confront the second team, the guardians of a grisly basket. Unfortunately, mixed in the basket are six heads. The guardians of the basket must all resurrect at the same time, and no head may be taken from the basket until all guardians are eliminated. Only one head may be taken out at a time. The first team must find the correct head to end the scenario.
The sides will be swapped and the scenario will be run again. The team which finds the correct head the fastest shall win.
SEIGE AT THE ABBY? Thirty minute res in a confined front, time permitting.
WELL, WELL, WELL... A resurrection battle with one res point — the Holywell — time permitting.
