12th Night Celebration

January 9, 2010

The Barony of Bryn Madoc invites all to celebrate the end of the winter holiday season with us.

DETAILS

ACTIVITIES: This all day event will include classes, heavy weapons fighting, portraits by THLady Wyn Caradoc of Anglesey, music, drama, and a masked ball! We will also crown the King of the Bean and the Queen of the Pea to misrule over the day. We will have materials on site to make simple masks. We encourage you to exercise your creativity over the holidays and wear your own elaborate creation to the masked ball!

WHEN: Saturday, January 9th. Site opens at 10 a.m., and the doors close at 10 p.m.

SITE: St. Gregory the Great Episcopal Church, 3195 Barnett Shoals Rd., Athens, GA 30605.

Take your best route to Athens, taking Loop 10 South to College Station Rd. Exit from the loop onto College Station Rd., heading SE. When College Station Rd dead-ends, turn right and go 0.55 mile to the next stop light. At the next light, turn left onto Barnett Shoals Rd. Go 1 mile, keeping right. St. Gregory is on the left after Athens Montessori School. A map to the site may be found here.*

FEES: Payment is at the door, cash only on the day of the event. Pre-reservations are not available. The fees are $5 per person and $3 for children 6-15 years old. Children under 6 years of age attend for free. Proof of SCA membership is required; non-members pay an additional $3 fee. No family will pay more than 3 adult fees.

FOOD: A fundraiser lunch will be offered. The feast is a potluck/covered trencher, so please bring a dish to share for your family or party, plus 4 others.
